The Web (http & html) starts out as an Open Solution in the early 90's however we have gone down a road of mostly proprietary solutions. We are experiencing a surge in awareness of the Open Web and the value that it brings to innovation and moving the Web forward. I will outline how folks can get involved on three different levels .... 1) From a developer perspective, 2) From an advocate perspective, 3) From a Standards/Legal perspective. And use Wordpress as one example of innovation from the Open Web
